EARLY CHRISTIAN
COMMUNITIES CLASS
I am pleased to announce that the Early Christian Communities
class materials are updated, and I am ready to begin teaching the class at your
church, Bible study or small group meetings.
Why study the Early Christian Communities? We will
observe the records of the early (First Three Centuries) competing forms of the
Christian faith, its doctrines and sacred texts and their impact on modern
Christian thought and practices.
Did you know there were several books written about Jesus
and his life that were around and competing for attention that did not make it into
the New Testament canon? Or that there
were many differing beliefs about Jesus’ birth, how and in what way was he Divine? How about the fact that the earliest
followers of Jesus were Jewish? Understanding these questions and the importance
of the early formations of the Christian Faith Practice will deepen your faith
and appreciation for the faith today.
These are the questions and challenges we will address
during the class. This class is built on
the historical platform-who were these groups-these books-these forms of
Christianity-and how can we know what they believed and taught.
The class materials can be done either in seminars,
weekly classes of 4-12 weeks or in whatever fashion fits your group’s needs. Online
meetings are available if you have a format for it.

We can discuss a tailor-made fit for your group needs. I look forward to getting the opportunity to
work with you.
